Soleàd - Yaëlle Ellen's Latin Project
Singer Yaëlle Ellen and Brazilian guitarist Daniel Messina met during their studies in Lucerne, Switzerland. Their love for the Brazilian repertoire immediately gave them a common ground and they very quickly began to play in duo. In 2017, the two musicians were invited to open the Auvernier Jazz Festival and to be featured on all posters and visuals for the 2017 edition of the festival. Amazed by this opportunity, they decided to develop their project, asking the Venezuelan bass player Daniel Somaroo and the Canarian percussionist Alberto Garcia to join them.
Together, the four musicians explore a varied repertoire, from personal compositions and arrangements of jazz monuments from the Latin jazz repertoire to Brazilian gems. Sometimes, the bands disappear, letting the voice and guitar alone, instilling an intimate atmosphere in the room, only to come back again with lively rhythms and unforeseen energy.
